Since their first edition in 2009, the International R&D Dating have brought together academic researchers and top-level R&D decision-makers from healthcare companies. These meetings are jointly organised by ARIIS, the Alliance for Research and Innovation in Health Industries, and by Aviesan, the French National Alliance for Life Sciences and Health. This event is a unique moment for exchanges, offering an exceptional opportunity to public authorities, researchers and industrial stakeholders to meet in a prominent venue to discuss innovating projects. Moreover, the presence of business decision-makers from the whole world gives the event an international profile.
The themes at the core of innovation issues
Each RIR edition focuses on a single theme (Neurology, Cancer, Metabolic Diseases, Rare diseases, etc.), making it possible to concentrate in this high impact event the academic and industrial research communities of experts in the field: a laboratory of ideas and innovations for the medicine of the future. This event also enables the building of bridges between the academic and the industrial worlds with the aim of developing partner-oriented research and to highlight the appeal of French research at international level.
A 2018 edition based on public/private discussion
The last edition on immuno-oncology took place on 6 February 2018 in collaboration with the Thematic Multi-Organisation Institute for Cancer (ITMO Cancer) of Aviesan.
This meeting, entirely refashioned, focused on the public/private discussion of industrial issues, through the organisation of joint round tables, presentations by world-renowned scientists and presentations of innovative projects, followed by 30-minute Business to Business meetings between the industry and academics. In addition, Frederic Vidal’s talk allowed to highlight the strength and dynamism of French research and innovation. This was a true sucess with nearly 370 people from the industrial, academic and institutional worlds who participated at the event and 146 business meetings took place. A new edition will be held in 2019.
